For a very familiar problem

You know the face.
We help place it.

For those moments when the programme pauses in your head while you try to remember where you’ve seen someone before.

The idea

Watching Richard E. Grant and thinking of Hugh Grant in Notting Hill is exactly the sort of mix-up this site exists to solve. A familiar name is not always the right name. Here is the explanation for the two Grants.

Useful clues, with sources

Profiles focus on recognition: memorable roles, programmes, songs and podcasts. Each page links to the sources used and shows when the information was checked. Official artist biographies, broadcaster credits, studio announcements and established reference organisations are preferred.

These are selected credits, not exhaustive filmographies. Unknown biographical details are omitted. Comparisons are written only when there is a useful distinction to explain; sharing a cast does not imply a family relationship.

Independent, and spoiler-conscious

This site is an independent reference project operated by William Cameron. It is not affiliated with the BBC, ITV, programme makers or the people featured. Cast guides explain who people are, without recording eliminations, winners or secret game roles.

Corrections and updates

Corrections should identify the profile and a reliable supporting source. Publication decisions are based on evidence, not rumour. Each profile shows the references used so readers can check the facts themselves.

A site without borrowed photographs

We use typography and recognition credits rather than copied celebrity photography. Any future photographs will need an appropriate licence and attribution.
